The World Health Organization (WHO) is currently preparing an international agreement on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response. We want the Canadian government to commit to not signing any international treaty on pandemic prevention and preparedness established by the World Health Organization (WHO), unless this is approved through a public referendum.

We believe the public must be furnished with the full ramifications of what and how any pandemic treaty could affect them, and be given a public vote before the Canadian government signs any WHO pandemic treaty. 

Key questions to consider:

1. Given that the yielding of sovereignty is considered the crime of high treason by the laws of every nation, and that Parliaments may not legislate against the interests of the Nation, much less violate the natural liberties and fundamental rights of the citizens whom they represent, to what extent will the Canadian government, as a member state, ensure that the treaty will not infringe on its sovereignty on matters of public health?
2. To what extent will the Canadian government ensure that the citizen, who has no direct vote in a supranational body largely financed by the pharmaceutical industry and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is not bypassed in the decision-making process and that a shift of competence further and further away from the voter does not lead to an increasing "de-democratisation" of our society?

In short, the WCH position is that the WHO pandemic treaty is unnecessary and threatens our sovereignty and inalienable rights. Since the WHO have no democratically elected representatives, it should have absolutely no jurisdiction over any country's laws.

L'Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS) prépare actuellement un accord international sur la prévention, la préparation et la réponse aux pandémies. Nous voulons que le gouvernement canadien s'engage à ne signer aucun traité international sur la prévention et la préparation en cas de pandémie établi par l'Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS), à moins qu'il ne soit approuvé par un référendum public.

Nous croyons que le public doit être informé de toutes les ramifications de quoi et comment tout traité sur la pandémie pourrait l'affecter et de la manière dont il pourrait l'affecter, et avoir droit à un vote public avant que le gouvernement canadien ne signe un traité de l'OMS sur la pandémie.

Questions clés à considérer :

1. Etant donné que la cession de souveraineté est considérée comme un crime de haute trahison par les lois de toute nation, et que les Parlements ne peuvent légiférer contre les intérêts de la Nation, encore moins violer les libertés naturelles et les droits fondamentaux des citoyens qu'ils représentent, dans quelle mesure le gouvernement canadien, en tant qu'État membre, s'assurera-t-il que le traité n'empiètera pas sur sa souveraineté en matière de santé publique?
2. Dans quelle mesure le gouvernement canadien s'assurera-t-il que le citoyen, qui n'a pas de vote direct dans une instance supranationale largement financée par l'industrie pharmaceutique et la Fondation Bill & Melinda Gates, ne soit pas contourné dans le processus décisionnel et qu'un transfert de compétence de plus en plus éloigné de l'électeur ne conduise pas à une « dé-démocratisation » croissante de notre société?
