Do not close Iowa School for the Deaf (ISD)!

Do not close Iowa School for the Deaf (ISD)!
The Issue
The new Superintendent of Iowa School for the Deaf (ISD), Patrick Clancy was appointed by the Iowa Board of Regents, and it has been revealed that Supt. Clancy is also a member of the Iowa Board of Regents.
Supt. Clancy has only signed a 3 year term agreement to be ISD's superintendent, It has been revealed through futher investigation, that it is the Board of Regent's intent to close Iowa School for the Deaf during the planning phase (1st year), and Supt. Clancy would supervise the closing of ISD over the next 2 years (total of 3 years).
It has also been revealed in a private investigation, that there was only one Deaf member in the committee that is supposed to oversee and plan ISD's future. The others were already appointed by the Iowa Board of Regents.
Because of the clear travesty and "snotty look-down" on Deaf people, especially at ISD, the Deaf community and their families clearly say "NO" to ISD's closing.
It is in the original plans that ISD would be the "hub" of education for surrounding states' Deaf students. Without a full education curriculum designed for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, the Deaf and their families will not find the full potential for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
ISD may be centuries old, but it would be better in the long run to remodel some of the buildings, expand the campus, and build new dorms and classrooms for the new "hub" of Deaf education in the Midwest.
We will NOT let ISD close! How would the hearing people feel if we controlled the education system and forced hearing schools to close? ISD is proud to be Deaf, and it is OUR Pride!
