As we requested in the petition, the Oyamadas were able to attend and they were able to face Officer Darren Ilardi, who is the driver of the patrol car that hit Ryo. Also Officer Jason Carman, who was the partner of Officer Ilardi when he hit Ryo, was present at the hearing. As some of you may already know, both officers admitted that they did not have the head lights on when they hit Ryo, though they said the patrol car had lights on in their official announcement after the accident. Any words that came out from the officers satisfied nor comforted the Oyamadas and it was more likely disappointing and upset them. However, I believe it was still an unmissable opportunity for them to face the person who is responsible to their family’s death.
