We are currently dealing with multiple problems in the Black Community from high Covid transaction rates, lack of resources, high unemployment, a shortage of role models, and organization's that profit from this pain and trauma.

All of these ills manifests itself as anger and pain, and hurt people hurt people. This is one reason we are seeing so much violence in our communities. We have to take personal responsibility to be mindful of the messages we put out when we play and make music. Music has the power to trigger emotion. It has the power to heal, and it has the power to trigger trauma. When a person is triggered they are quick to pull one.

So join us in taking action against the violence by being conscious enough to play balanced. Meaning DJs play your box, but add in some message music that uplifts. Producers and artists make your music, but be mindful to show you in whole. Killers kiss their babies, and worry about their parents etc. Talk about that too. Radio Programmers, dig and break new artists that uplift. We dont need to die and do drugs on every track. We could use the variety. Music consumers, broaden your horizon and support local artists that build in the community.

We need this more now than ever. Our communities need it, our youth need it, but most importantly our souls need it. So please sign the petition in solidarity.
