Dear Brampton residents,
I recently read an article by the The Brampton Guardian regarding the City of Brampton's response to our petition. They are not willing to budge whatsoever, nor reveal the speeding threshold that triggers the cameras.
"While the city doesn't reveal the speeding threshold to trigger the cameras- And of course, we will not be disclosing the threshold." -Michael Kraft director of automated speed enforcement.
This is unacceptable! If you have received a fine for driving 5km or less over the limit, please leave a comment in the petition.
It's time we step it up and email our elected officials and voice our concerns. Please take a moment this week and email mayor Patrick Brown and the city councillors for your ward. I have provided their emails below.
If this was really about safety and not extra revenue for the city, they would have installed speed bumps and flashing lights in school zones. This would certainly be a lot more effective in slowing down drivers....but they don't generate income!
I believe this is an election year in Brampton, we will not support those who do not support us!
