We, the concerned residents and taxpayers of Brampton, Ontario are demanding the immediate removal of all speed enforcement cameras currently installed across our city!

There are currently 150 speed cameras in Brampton, with that number expected to reach 185 by the end of summer 2025. With the implementation of these speed cameras, we are now living underconstant surveillance, creating a stressful and anxious driving environment for law abiding citizens.

In the midst of an affordability crisis, inflation, rising taxes, and economic pressure, families cannot afford to have their hard earned money siphoned through automated ticketing systems. These cameras disproportionately impact working class individuals, many of whom are just trying to commute safely, efficiently,  and peacefully.

We are human. We are not perfect. We are not machines. We are asking for fairness, transparency, and accountability from our elected officials. The grace and discretion once shown by trained officers has been replaced by cold, impersonal technology. 

We the undersigned, are demanding the following:

1. Immediate halt to the installation of any new speed cameras.
2. Immediate removal of all currently installed speed enforcement cameras in Brampton.
3. Full public disclosure on revenue generated from these cameras and how it has been used.
4. Implementation of fair, transparent public consultation before any future enforcement measures are introduced.

It's time to say NO to constant surveillance, NO to financial exploitation, and YES to accountability, fairness, and real public safety.

In closing, we would like to stress that this petition does not support excessive speeding or reckless driving in any way, shape, or form.

Ditch the speed cameras. Enough is enough!
