Support for Hybrid Learning Plan of Community High School District 99

Support for Hybrid Learning Plan of Community High School District 99
The Issue
Please sign this petition if you are in support of the District 99 Hybrid Learning Plan. In a preliminary vote conducted on Monday, July 27th, four school board members voted in support of a complete Remote Learning (e-learning) plan, leaving only three members in support of Hybrid Learning. The Hybrid plan allows for approximately 1 hour of in-person instruction per class period per week. This plan follows all current CDC, State of Illinois, and DuPage County Health Department guidelines using personal protective equipment and physical distancing. It gives students who wish to learn remotely the opportunity to do so and allows participation in extracurriculars that follow these guidelines. Teachers who are at risk will have the opportunity to teach remotely. The administration of District 99 has worked tirelessly to create a plan that ensures everyone's safety to the greatest possible extent. Regardless of the learning environment, students will earn grades as if this was a traditional in-person school year. The ability to meet in-person has a significant and positive impact on learning and education. As a community we are asking you to support our wishes and those of the District 99 Administration to ensure students receive the highest quality of education available.
