I am a resident in Ramsey, Minnesota community where the Riverstone Homeowners Association (HOA) has been in operation. Over the years, the HOA has raised prices significantly without delivering on the promises for which we originally signed. It is both disappointing and unacceptable that our hard-earned funds are being used to support a system that does not benefit us as homeowners. We have watched as the quality of community management drastically declines, with little to no improvement in services, coupled with an aggressive enforcement of fines.

High homeowners' association fees do not just create a financial burden for homeowners, they can also lead to foreclosures. According to the Community Associations Institute, in 2017, there were about 342,000 HOAs in the US, covering over 69 million residents. This means HOAs like ours, which fail to perform their duties, affect a large number of homeowners (Source: Community Associations Institute, 2017). This petition calls for the dissolution of the Riverstone Homeowners Association in Ramsey, Minnesota.

We believe that the dissolution of the HOA will bring about the freedom to manage our community in a way that is beneficial and respectful to all residents. We should have the right to live in a community that is run by regulations that reflect the welfare of its residents, and not the profit margins of the HOA board.
