Dissolve the Homeowners Association in Summit Ridge Community

Dissolve the Homeowners Association in Summit Ridge Community
The Issue
I am a homeowner in the Summit Ridge community, deeply invested in my property, paying the mortgage, and taking pride in my house. Despite this, my creative freedom to decorate and design my yard is stifled by our Homeowners Association (HOA). They've restricted our choices on how we want our yards, all the way down to prohibiting chicken coops.
HOAs are designed to maintain the appearance and value of a neighborhood. However, we believe that individual choices should not be dictated to such an extent. A 2018 study from the Foundation for Community Association Research indicates that 74% of residents living in America's HOA-governed communities feel positive about their associations. However, the remaining 26% have shown dissatisfaction. I, and many of my neighbors, are part of that 26%.
Furthermore, we find it unreasonable to impose restrictions that violate the personal lifestyle choices of homeowners. The presence of chicken coops is a particular point of contention in many HOAs across the United States. These coops can promote sustainability by promoting local egg production, yet our HOA forbids it.
Our aim is to dissolve the HOA in Summit Ridge. Instead, we propose a more democratic system where homeowners have a voice on what's permissible in our community. Let the individuality of homeowners shine through their yards. Give us the freedom to facilitate and nurture sustainable practices such as keeping chicken coops.
We implore you to allow for more individual freedom within our community. Let's endorse individuality, sustainability, and inclusivity in our neighborhood. Please, sign this petition to dissolve the current HOA and evoke a shift towards a more democratic and accepting Summit Ridge Community.
