The Issue

Living in Spring Valley, NY, has become a financial burden and a source of frustration for many residents. We're spending far too much money on services that do not meet our expectations, and we deserve better. Our community dreams of having better pools, better parks, and overall improved services that we are not currently receiving.

Spring Valley has been plagued with administrative inefficiencies and financial mismanagement, resulting in wasted resources and an inability to address community needs adequately. Dissolving the village as a legal entity and integrating with the broader Ramapo & Clarkstown  is a realistic and practical solution that can bring about significant improvements.

By dissolving the village, we can eliminate redundant governmental layers, saving taxpayer money that can be re-invested into more meaningful services. Merging with Ramapo & Clarkstown could allow us to pool resources for better recreational facilities like enhanced swimming pools and spacious parks, and to upgrade essential services such as waste management and public safety.

Statistics reveal that small villages with overlapping jurisdictional boundaries, like Spring Valley, often suffer from inefficiencies. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, small municipalities face higher costs per capital in service delivery compared to larger towns due to their smaller tax base and higher administrative expenses.

Furthermore, Ramapo & Clarkstown has proven to be more efficient in managing resources with a track record of better services and community programs. By not having to support a separate village government, Spring Valley residents can benefit from more competitive tax rates, improved services, and a higher quality of life.

Join us in this crucial endeavor to reshape our community for the better. Dissolve Spring Valley Village and pave the way for a brighter, more prosperous future. Sign this petition and help us advocate for change. Let’s work together to ensure we get the best for our hard-earned money and enhance our living standards."
