It is personal for me due to Musk's alleged white supremacist tendencies, as well as controversial decisions such as the infamous Dogecoin cuts, which many investors have associated with significant financial loss. Furthermore, these actions are seen as contributing factors to the economic strain on the American public and the broader global impact—issues that resonate deeply with me as a concerned citizen.

New Orleans, with its rich cultural history and complex urban landscape, faces unique challenges, including geological ones, when considering massive infrastructure projects like those proposed by the Boring Company. The city is built on soft, alluvial soil, increasing the difficulty of safely constructing underground tunnels without exacerbating flooding risks. Should New Orleans rush into contracts for large-scale tunnel projects without thorough investigation into the company's past successes and failures, the city's safety and future could be severely jeopardized.

Moreover, Musk's business ventures have historically neglected to address crucial structural inequities. New Orleans is a city built on profound cultural diversity and a complex socio-economic structure. Any infrastructural development must prioritize addressing local community needs, including ensuring equitable access and considering the social, environmental, and economic ramifications for all New Orleans residents. Hiring a company led by an individual with a controversial past to lead this could lead to adverse consequences that disproportionately affect marginalized communities.

I am calling on the city officials and concerned citizens of New Orleans to reconsider this potential partnership with Musk's Boring Company.
