Earl Dube, under the pseudonym "The White Bowser," is a self-confessed predator and pedophile. Many spectators came across footage of his AMV victory at SacAnime 2023, which remains one of his most widely viewed online videos. We cannot allow such an individual to hold the honor and recognition that comes with this award. By supporting this petition, we are loudly declaring that we do not, and will not, stand for or offer encouragement to any form of abuse. Encouragingly, organizations across the globe have started to disown people with similar allegations, setting an example of what is ethically and socially acceptable - and Dube's case should not be an exception. We therefore call upon SacAnime to reconsider their 2023 AMV Exhibition results, and in a definitive gesture to support the vulnerable, disqualify Earl Dube's win.
