SAVE MOTORCITY

The Issue

In 2012, Motorcity hit Disney XD, animated by the phenomenal Titmouse Inc. The story, simple but effective- the Burners, a gang of rebellious teens riding high tech hot rods fought against Kane Co. an evil corporation trying to place all of Detroit under its authoritarian rule. With a diverse and dynamic cast of characters, fabulous animation and sharp writing, it seemed destined to succeed. Thanks to rampant scheduling problems, the show never got the audience or the second season it deserved. Though never reaching stardom, it’s fans are incredibly dedicated and even three years later, we’re still clambering for another ride through Motorcity.

This petition will show Titimouse Inc. and Disney XD that there still is a demand Motorcity. I hope to encourage Disney XD to either uncancel the show or return the Intellectual Property rights to Titmouse Inc. this would allow them to find other networks to sponsor and air their show!

To me, this show means a lot. I feel incredibly inspired by the creators- they really put their heart and soul into this work. Their dedication to this show and their love for it has rekindled my desire to pursue animation as a career. Though I’ve heard many stories of people losing their artistic spark, the staff of Titmouse has reminded me that animation for profit can still connect you with the work and characters as much as a personal project, and that working with other artists, while often times complicated, can build an awesome community. I can only imagine how it felt to spend 10 years pitching their ideas, finally getting it on the air, and then being canceled before the first season even ended. They deserve to get a second chance, and it’s our job to fight to bring their masterpiece back.

Sign this petition because you love Motorcity. Sign this petition because you want to show networks how much you care. Sign this petition because you want networks to listen. Sign this because you love great animation. Whatever your reason, VIVA LA MOTORCITY!
