Guys - we did it!

Disney released a statement from CEO Bob Chapek that, in my opinion, was satisfactory (although far too late). In the statement (attached) Chapek took responsibility and apologized for not taking a stronger stand earlier and not being a better ally. Importantly, he also fulfilled our second ask, which was to stop donating to the sponsors of the bill. The statement read that Disney would pause all political donations in Florida, and that they would investigate their political donation plan for the future. I am satisfied with this, although I’m going to watch closely to see if they truly stop donating or try to “unpause” when they think we’re not paying attention. If they do this, I know we will come out in full force again.

Thank you to everyone who signed, shared, and donated. This outcome is proof that our voices matter. It means the world to me. For now, I am going to declare victory, but I’ve been told I can restart the campaign if Disney “unpauses” those donations, so we don’t lose progress.
