Wow - this is incredible, guys.

We are now at over 3,000 signatures! In just four days! Thank you all so much!

A lot happened yesterday. Bob Chapek made a weak statement under pressure at the shareholders meeting. He also said Ron DeSantis ensured him the bill wouldn’t hurt LGBT people How he managed to get to the position of CEO with such poor instincts is beyond me.

He also pledged $5 million to the human rights campaign. And guess what? They rejected the money! That’s right, they knew Disney was trying to buy their way out and said “Nope, you dug this hole, it’s going to require meaningful change to get out of it”. I am so glad they did this! I was worried for a second everyone would forgive Disney and move on. NO! They have not met our simple demands.

We need a written statement of denouncement of the bill and a declaration that they will not fund the sponsors of the bill again. Nothing less!

The incredible team at Pixar also put out a brave and detailed statement with the same demands we have outlined here and also some damning info on Disney’s actions in the past (censoring gay characters from Pixar movies). I am so proud of Pixar!

Finally, the latest news is that Disney employees begged Chapek to denounce the bill in a letter prior to its passing. This is damning for Chapek. I am again so proud and grateful for the employees of Disney for blowing the whistle on this.

At this point, I don’t see how Chapek can continue as CEO, and I hope he resigns. In any case, our conditions for supporting Disney remain the same. A formal, written statement denouncing the bill and a commitment not to fund the sponsors of the bill going forward. Again, so simple. Until then we will not be quiet. Please, share this petition widely. The goal is 10,000 signatures.

Godspeed, Rebels!
