We, the concerned parents, students, and community members of McLaurin High, are calling for the removal of the current head football coach, William Hedgepeth. Since he became the head coach, we have observed a significant decline in both the performance and educational value of our football program.  

Reasons for Petition: 
Underperformance: The team’s performance has consistently fallen below expectations. The team has consistently lost by large margins, often scoring less than 10 points per game while allowing opponents to score over 30 points. Many players have expressed frustration with the lack of effective coaching and training. 
 
Lack of Educational Programs: The coach has failed to provide an educational and developmental program that benefits our student-athletes. There is a noticeable lack of focus on skill development, sportsmanship, and academic support. There has also been a noticeable lack of improvement in player skills and teamwork.  
 
Negative Impact on Students: The current coaching approach has negatively impacted the morale and development of our students. Many students have expressed dissatisfaction and a lack of motivation under the current leadership. The morale of the team is at an all-time low, with several players considering quitting or changing schools due to dissatisfaction with the coaching methods. 

Call to Action: 
We urge the school administration to take immediate action by removing the current head football coach and appointing a new coach who is committed to both the athletic and educational development of our students. We believe that a change in leadership is necessary to restore the integrity and success of our football program.
