The DISH receivers should not shut off automatically to go down for so called updates, these updates can wait until the receiver(s) are turned off. Especially when your in the middle of watching a recorded show from the built in DVR, why would I want it to shut down for updates when I am watching shows on the DVR? It doesn't make sense, it is very annoying and DISH needs to stop doing it.

I have addressed this issue with DISH Support before and I get no where with them. It's time they heard the customers voice and what they want, after all, they are the ones paying for the service and if the customer cannot enjoy the service then why even have it?

DISH could put in a new feature when they do one of these software updates that allows the customer to choose the time they want the updates to happen or just have the system do it when the receivers are turned off.
