I'm sure many of you use Discord, which is an online platform that has many different communities for discussions. Discord is an amazing place, you can do so much on it. However, so many things can also be improved.

The main reason why I started this petition is because the developer of Dank Memer, Melmsie has received death threats, resulting in his resignation. I'm not asking him to come back as I respect his choice.

However, I hope that these things would not happen again in the future. Imagine if you're minding you own business, chatting with your friends and a group of people start attacking you for your opinions. The thing is, anyone can join public discord servers. And it's so hard to track who does what. Even if the attacker is banned from the certain server, he or she can repeat the actions in other servers on Discord.

Through this petition, I hope that Discord will consider being stricter on security measures/having a better report system for issues including doxing, cyberbullying, death threats, etc. 

Respecting others is a simple virtue and value. Even if you don't sign this petition or don't use Discord, please do not hide behind Anonymity and respect everyone online. Words can hurt too. Thank you for reading and have a great day ahead!
