On 21.04.2021 We witnessed the most outrageous pump & dump so far on Viacoin, causing investors to lose almost half of their investment in seconds.

Recently, a lot of pump and dump groups have been gaining in popularity. One of the more prominent ones is 'The Big Pump Signal'.
What these groups do, is gather tens of thousands of people on Telegram and Discord, and create hype around a pump and dump signal. They announce that a coin will be pumped on a specific date and time, at which they announce the exact coin and at that point - it's a rat race.

How these pump and dumps usually look, is that the admins of the team (who presumably have millions by now) pump the coin before letting everyone else know. They then wait for the people to jump in immidiately, and dump it when they judge is appropriate, forcing a sharp decline in the value. The coins they are dumping are shitcoins like neblio, viberanium etc. All of them have an enormous one minute candle, which look like an inverse hammer. The coin usually goes back after a minute (or even drops below its initial value), and you have very little chance of making any profit whatsoever - whereas your losses can be staggering.
