The Nintendo Switch lacks a voice chat feature built into the console. We want the ability to speak to people directly from our console, and to other platforms on which Discord is supported.

As the switch is a mobile device, it is meant to be taken everywhere, but sometimes it's impossible because of the space needed to take both a phone and the console. A Discord app will eliminate that need and make taking the console around much more accessible.

Adding a discord app to the Nintendo Switch could also be beneficial to discord as it will increase its user base by giving people who didn't need to use discord before a reason to. It will also give more people the chance to buy discord nitro.

The Nintendo Switch user base has been in need of a more streamlined communication app for a long time, and as of right now the hassle of communicating with other players using the Nintendo Switch and other platforms is what keeps us, the Nintendo Switch owners from playing with our friends, and some people from even purchasing the console in the first place.

The easier it gets for us to play with our friends online, the more we will need to purchase a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, as right now there are just too many hoops to jump through to play with your friends.
