Discontinue Heating Allowance for Members of Parliament

Discontinue Heating Allowance for Members of Parliament
El problema
My wife has been suffering from Lewy Body dementia, a condition that has left her unable to walk. We are among the thousands of regular citizens who face serious healthcare and personal crises, struggling to make ends meet. Since the new red tory government has decided to remove her winter heating allowance I urge the public you support my petition to remove Members of Parliament (MPs) allowance for heating. A report by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority reveals that MPs can claim up to £3,000 a year for accommodation expenses including heating (Source: IPSA). Yet many vulnerable people across the nation are unable to access similar assistance.
Surely, given the comfortable salaries of MPs, the money used for this allowance could be better used to support healthcare and social services for individuals like my wife, and many others in similar situations. It's time for MPs to be pushed out of their comfort zones, and to bear the challenges that everyday citizens deal with constantly in mind.
Everybody should have the right to receive the necessary support that provides for a decent quality of life. That includes the elderly, the sick, and those who are in desperate need of assistance. Therefore, we call on the UK Government to discontinue the heating allowance for MPs, diverting these funds to support those who need it more. We respectfully request your signature to back this cause. Thank you.
