Disband the Liberty Shores HOA and CDD

The Issue

The community of Liberty Shores in rural Florida has long been under the governance of a Homeowners Association (HOA) and a Community Development District (CDD) that no longer serve the best interests of its residents. The need to disband the Liberty Shores HOA and CDD has become critical due to their persistent inefficiencies and the undue burdens they place on homeowners.

One of the core issues is the substantial fee of $150 a month that residents are compelled to pay for water services that they could independently manage at a significantly lower cost. In many cases, other communities manage their own water services without the oversight of an HOA, saving them thousands of dollars annually. This unnecessary financial burden is not only frustrating but also economically detrimental to the residents who already struggle with the cost of rural living in Florida.

Furthermore, the HOA has consistently failed to fulfill its responsibilities, leaving common areas unmaintained and disregarding resident concerns. Many Liberty Shores residents have reported feeling powerless over decisions affecting their own properties, as the HOA imposes arbitrary regulations that do not reflect the community's desires or needs. This overreach has not only stifled personal freedom but has also created an environment of distrust and dissatisfaction.

The CDD's presence further complicates matters, as its role overlaps with the HOA without providing any additional value. Residents are thus subjected to a dual governance model that is redundant and cumbersome. Instead of offering constructive community benefits, these organizations have become an unnecessary bureaucratic barrier.

Disbanding the HOA and CDD in Liberty Shores would foster a return to individual property autonomy and financial freedom. Local residents are perfectly capable of managing and maintaining their homes without the constant oversight and financial imposition of these organizations.

We call upon local government officials and stakeholders to recognize the overwhelming need for the dissolution of these bodies. This action will empower the Liberty Shores residents to reclaim the freedom to manage their own properties and finances.

Please join us in our effort to bring positive change to the Liberty Shores community. Sign this petition to support the disbanding of the Liberty Shores HOA and CDD, and help restore personal freedom and economic sanity.
