October of 2022, EA released an update for FIFA 23 that restricted many players ability to play the game. For many of these players, that ability has still not been restored over 3 months later. Many players have given up on playing the game, or have tried every solution to no avail. Anti-cheat errors such as "Failure during update process" "Please open the game with origin or the EA application" are all too common.

FIFA games have a short shelf life of about a year. This means that errors like this need to be addressed as soon as possible. EA has not done a good job at fixing the errors and continues to sell copies of the games to unsuspecting Steam users. This seems like a fraudulent business practice, because the product is not even usable to a large portion of the customers and many prospective buyers may not know this during purchase.

EA has always had problems with their games, but this complete disregard for the PC market is absurd. We as customers do not deserve this, and we need to show EA that we do have a voice that must be listened to. This petition will be helpful in demonstrating the number of FIFA 23 users that are unable to use the product after purchase, and it might even get EA to disable the anti-cheat temporarily.
