Deduction in HM practical fees as practicals were not conducted amid Covid-19 Lockdown.
Hello,
We, students of D. Y. Patil University School of Hospitality and Tourism Studies TY Bsc HS, are concerned about fees charged by our college as practical fees especially Food training costs, other practicals fees, and also Examination charges. We are wishfully willing to pay Tuition fees as lectures were conducted on regular basis by our faculties but we are not in favour of paying fees for services that we haven't used.
Now this topic is debatable as covid-19 was a natural calamity, we have been told by management we can opt for practicals in future but the reopening of college is unpredictable, hence we don't want to pay fees for these services that we haven't used. We will be paying fees in future in case of practicals provided in future. We are told that we have to compulsorily pay fees till semester 5th if we want college to arrange an internship for us which is really unethical for us students as everyone is suffering from adverse financial effects of Covid-19. Many of us are studying on basis of an education loan, we have to pay it back along with interest to the bank and we are paying that all money for the services we haven't received or used.
