Diocese of Winona-Rochester: Let LGBTQ+ Students be Themselves!

The Issue

The Diocese of Winona- Rochester made a new policy for all Catholic schools limits many rights of LGBTQ+ community, especially trans rights. The policy includes telling students they must identify in school with their biological name and sex, limits the ability for two people of the same sex to go to school functions such as prom together, and acknowledging that students may not be allowed to enroll if their identity causes confusion to others. Not only is this completely discriminatory towards the LGBTQ+ community, but it also goes against core Catholic teachings of acceptance and creates an unsafe atmosphere at school. Please sign the petition to bring attention to this issue and work to give students a safe, compassionate, and accepting environment.
