Please let the Minister for Health know there is ongoing 1080 poison baits being laid in urban areas across Australia contrary to what Australian Pesticides and Veterminary Medicines Authority say. The Minister needs to know this so that he can carry out the role for which he was appointed. I believe this is a risk to public health and wellbeing and the Minister has a duty to intervene to prevent such risks. 30 milligrams of 1080 could kill a child. Ongoing baiting in urban areas is killing domestic pets across Australia to the point where Australian Veterinary Authority are releasing warnings to pet owners to muzzle their dogs, yet thousands of dogs die annually. We cant muzzle infants, eagles will pick up and carry a poison bait for miles, a fox will carry a bit for up to a kilometre.
