Bethlehem Town, Bohlokong&Bakenpark, demand an environment that is not harmful to our heal
The Issue
Bethlehem Town, Bohlokong & Bakenpark have a continuous struggle with service delivery!
Water outages for days, unreliable power supply, sewerage and refuse removal and road maintenance, are all issues residence are facing on a daily basis.
The #DihlabengMunicipality's lack in communication to the residence makes this all the more frustrating and leaving people vulnerable and hopeless.
These problems are not only frustrating, it is a huge health risk and is in direct violation of our constitutional right as South African citizens.
The lack of water, in the middle of a pandemic, where hygiene and constant hand washing can be the difference between life and death, has become a human rights violation! The municipality's lack of supplying fresh water to the community on a regular and on-going basis, is the biggest and most serious problem.
Add regular power outages, to the already stressed water system and it makes it nearly impossible for certain areas to receive water.
Sewerage and waist removal are constantly hampered due to equipment breaking down and not getting serviced.
As a result of the above and poor road maintenance, business opportunities are falling away, minimising the prospect of creating jobs and impoverishing an already poor community.
Stand up for your constitutional rights!!
