The Issue

Jennifer Vasquez Sura is a mother of three, including two children with autism. She’s also the wife of Kilmar Abrego García — a man who was wrongly deported to one of the world’s most dangerous prisons in El Salvador by the Trump administration, despite a court order meant to protect him.

That alone should never have happened. But then it got worse.

As the political spotlight on the case intensified, officials from the Trump administration and DHS posted on social media a court document that contained the family’s home address. Jennifer, already fearing for her safety after Trump himself attacked her husband and administration officials taunted them online, was left terrified. She and her children have now been forced into hiding.

This isn’t just cruel. It’s dangerous.

Jennifer is now raising three kids — one nonverbal, one prone to seizures — alone in a safe house, isolated from the community and life they once knew. Her husband, once the person who made pancakes and comforted their children through their worst days, is locked away in a prison meant for violent criminals — a place he never should have been sent.

No family should be subjected to this kind of trauma — not by their own government.

We are calling on DHS to immediately investigate how this disclosure was allowed to happen, hold those responsible accountable, and implement strong, permanent safeguards to protect families in sensitive legal cases from political retaliation.

Stand with Jennifer and her children. Sign this petition to demand accountability and protection for families targeted by government overreach.
