Destruction Of Space Debris In New Zealand

Destruction Of Space Debris In New Zealand
The issue
Space Debris is a Global environmental phenomenon that will have a horrific effect on the Earth sooner or later. It will destroy satellites that we depend on because the typical piece of Space Debris, as big as a cricketball ball, travels at around 17,000 miles per hour which can cause major risk of destruction of Satellites when there is a collision.
What important things do Satellites do for us?
- Satellites predict extreme weather
- Satellites provide international connection between businesses, governments and associations
- Satellites measure climate change and its effects
- Satellites provide international connection between us and others
What would happen to us if Satellites stopped working/got destroyed?
- Our health would decline quickly because for e.g if companies that make/transport goods stop communicating, we could starve
- Our Global Economy Would Crash - companies heavily rely on communication with telephone service to trade goods; without telephone service, companies wouldn't be able to trade goods, consumers wouldn't be able to consume, which would cause the economy to crash as the national GDP would crash etc.
- Our global society would be extremely effected; the biggest type of communication used is between phones.
- Our global environment would get destroyed - no warning of extreme weather or toxic climate change effects.
Why Should We Care?
Our world could get destroyed extremely quickly if we don't support the destruction of Space Debris; the Global Economy, Environment and Society could be effected - this includes you!
What Can We Do To Help?
To help destory Space Debris, you can sign this petition, and by signing this petition, we can get the NZ Ministry for the Environment, who is unaware of the issue, to step up and raise awareness about this environmental phenomenon that will effect us horribly if we don't act now.
