Preserve Our Historic Clement Taylor Park

The Issue

Sign our petition today to preserve one of Destin's LAST untouched pieces of local heritage at Clement E. Taylor 'Calhoun Park'. This spot was the location of Destin's first school house in the late 1920's, which then became among the first Destin churches. The original school/church was removed later, but the stunning oaks, magnolias, and bay-side waterfront remain just as they have always been. Many baptisms, weddings, birthdays, founders day, family get together s and picnics have been held in this park for more than a century, lets keep that tradition going.

Another thought from the words of my grandmother, Joyce Walter, wife of recently deceased born descendant of a founder, Capt. Harold Walter. She truly believes their is an ulterior motive for these moves. She asks, what will be the use of this property in twenty years or less? They are determined to take this last remnant of old Destin away from us and there's something really fishy about all of this. It smells! Signed, Joyce E. Walter

We want to help the Destin Fire Station find a viable location on the West side of town as we do need our first to have whatever they need, within reason. Any ideas or solutions are welcome!

Sign this petition today to find another location for the fire department.

Leave Clement E. Taylor park as its always been intended!
