Change name of "Dead Negro Slough" to "Mojo Buford Slough" in DeSoto County, Miss.
The Issue
Dead Negro Slough is a name of an inlet in Desoto County near Hwy 61. It was changed to be less offensive, but I propose we change the name completely.
I suggest we change the name to Mojo Buford Slough to honor a famous blues musician from Hernando, Miss. Buford was an American blues harmonica player in Muddy Waters's band. The current location is also near Hwy 61, The Blues Highway.
