Loudoun county is currently the only county in the state of Virginia that does not allow its students to pole vault. The pole vault is an amazing and entirely unique track and field event which requires peak physical performance and mental fortitude. To actively prevent students from pole vaulting is ridiculous for any school district that claims to take Track and Field or athletics as a whole seriously. As a senior in highschool who is deeply passionate about pole vault and who is  looking to compete at the college level I care deeply about being able to compete as well as helping the sport grow. In summary I feel pole vaulting is an extremely fulfilling sport that everyone deserves the opportunity to participate in.
