In 2017 Mel Morris was awarded a CBE for his services to business. In 2021 Mel Morris placed Derby County (a 137 year old club, twice champions of England and a founder member of the Football League) in to administration due to his mismanagement of finances. By doing so, he has cost many people their jobs and has potentially ended a football club’s existence. Mel Morris should be stripped of his MBE
