Cheryl Gibson started this petition to Dept Economic Development Environmental Affairs Tourism (DEDEA)

Over the past 20 years there have countless concerns about the treatment of wild animals at the privately owned Seaview Predator Park in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape which operates as an income generating business. In additions allegations over canned lion hunting have repeatedly surfaced but no evidence has been found.

A little over 2 months ago, 2 endangered brown hyenas "escaped" from the park with the public only being notified 5 days after the event. Management repeatedly misinformed the public saying the hyenas had been returned. The truth finally came out that 1 had been shot and killed,  the other had been knocked over and killed on a  nearby freeway.

Yesterday, on  16 June 2021 one the newly acquired Siberian tigers killed a long standing employee in its enclosure, escaped, had an altercation with another tiger which it killed. Details are not known.

This petition calls for an immediate, urgent, and public investigation into the Seaview Predator Park by the local mandated authority, the Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEDEA) for the attention of Mr Dayalaan Govender, Regional Manager. All recommendations need to be made public.
