The Issue

Reports indicate that since January 12, 2026, the Iranian government has killed more than 36,500 peaceful protesters. In addition, an unknown number of citizens have been arrested and imprisoned on accusations of acting under orders from the United States and Israel for participating in protests against the regime. Iranian officials have a long record of hostile rhetoric toward the United States, while many senior regime officials and their immediate family members live safely and permanently in the United States and other Western countries.

One such case is Zahra Mohajerani, daughter of Ata’ollah Mohajerani, a former Iranian politician. Ata’ollah Mohajerani currently resides in the United Kingdom and is widely known for acting as a propaganda voice for the Islamic Republic. Following major political or social events in Iran, he frequently appears in international media outlets, where he attempts to absolve the Iranian government of responsibility and instead places blame on foreign countries—particularly the United States and Israel—for Iran’s economic and social crises.

Zahra Mohajerani reportedly resides in California and works for Rivian Automotive. She has never publicly distanced herself from her father’s political activities or rhetoric in support of the Iranian regime.

Speaking on behalf of many Iranians who have endured years of difficult visa processes, repeated denials, and prolonged security checks, we raise a serious concern: how individuals with close family ties to senior regime figures are able to immigrate to and build stable lives in the United States, while ordinary Iranians with no government connections, including those forced into mandatory IRGC service without choice are routinely denied visas.

We respectfully request that the United States government review and reassess such cases to ensure proper due diligence, transparency, and consistency in the application of immigration and security policies. This petition is not a call for discrimination, harassment, or deportation, but a demand for accountability, fairness, and respect for the principles of human rights and justice that the United States stands for.
