Quality Downfall of 'No homework policy' in the Philippines

Quality Downfall of 'No homework policy' in the Philippines
The Issue
No assignment policy is not beneficial to us, Filipinos. Even if we say that it will make the family closer, that is not what's happening. Children have much time towards unnecessary objects; like phones and tablets. Prohibiting teachers from assigning academic work to be done outside school hours is highly outrageous.
Education Secretary Leonor Briones was recently in for the policy, which is now the center topic after tons of pending bills in the Senate. How are going to approve this policy if The house of Representatives are in the middle of altercation between limiting the number of academic work, or having non at all.
The quality of our education is aggressively deteriorating, it started when K-12 curriculum was given the stamp of approval. A lot of people were against it but it was still approved. Students stopped going to universities saying that they can now have a job, but most of their efforts landed in vain.
Academic work at home provides awareness about technical topics and it helps to retain the lessons. It makes students aware about their consumption of time and self discipline. It gives student another opportunity to review class material.
"We suggest that, rather than a “no homework” policy, DepEd should review and modify existing policies regarding homework to ensure that they meet productive goals. Homework should have clear educational objectives, and certainly should not pose undue physical and financial burdens on students and their families. Those standards can be achieved, however, without resorting to banning homework entirely, and still ensure that our youth are adequately prepared to take on the challenges of a competitive world."
