The Western Weekender (local newspaper for Penrith/Werrington) saw the petition supporters have signed and contacted me for a story. It appeared in the 17 January 2020 edition of The Western Weekender. I have loaded the story into this update an hope that supporters can read the print.
Essentially, our concerns are known to Western Sydney University and probably Lend Lease who bought part of the land that has been habitat for the kangaroos. Lend Lease bought about a third of the habitat and proposes residential development on just about all of it.
Western Sydney University says it will provide an area for foraging/habitat for the mob of kangaroos but we all know that development dollars take precedence over what works for environmental sustainability.
