Free Wrongfully Convicted Trinity Matthisen

Free Wrongfully Convicted Trinity Matthisen
The Issue
Trinity "Ghost Face" Matthisen is from the Park Hill neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. He is currently serving his 18th year incarcerated for a crime he didn't commit.
As a 6th grade dropout, his encounters with the criminal justice system began at an early age.
Spending most of his adolescence locked up in various juvenile facilities, Trinity ultimately acquired a General Education Degree.
In 2002, Trinity paroled to Michigan looking to make a fresh start.
Nine months after his arrival he was attacked while attempting to break up a fight at a crowded house party.
Two people were shot in the melee and Trinity was wrongfully convicted of shooting one of the men involved in the altercation.
Although dozens of witnesses were questioned by the police, only one witness pointed the finger at Trinity. That witness, who originally identified the shooter as being a light-skinned black man, was released from probation the day after giving his testimony. ????? The other victim maintained it was a light skinned black man and Trinity was charged on the one count.
Trinity asked for a Gun residue test and he was not given one! A process that could have cleared him of the charge.
Even though none of the victims received life threatening injuries, because of his prior record, Trinity was sentenced to serve 42 to 72 years in prison.
Trinity appealed his conviction in 2012 but the appeal was thrown out when the prison he was at, failed to submit their paperwork in the alloted time.
Trinity is currently trying to raise funds to pay his lawyer and investigators to proceed with another appeal as new evidence that could very well exonerate him has come to light.
While fighting for his freedom, Trinity has been a vocal advocate for criminal justice reform. He has featured on several podcasts and worked on personal projects such as Aktive Magazine, Off The Chain and the #FreeTheBigHomie music compilation.
While incarcerated in the Colorado Department Of Corrections, Trinity furthered his education by taking several college courses that were made available through a Federal Pell Grant and he was appointed by prison staff to work in the S.H.A.P.E U.P program, mentoring at risk youth.
Until now, Trinity like many wrongfully accused don't have the ways of means to be heard or to fund their fight for justice and are simply locked away and forgotten. Trinity has spent his time studying law and mentoring others.

✊We need to fight this corrupt and unjust criminal justice system where many are wrongfully convicted through plea deals made with so called witnesses just to close a case.
Trinity recently applied for court documents related to his case but was denied access to these files with them siting the 'FOIA'..... The case has already been to court and sentencing made over 18 years ago... why are they being withheld. What is in there that they don't want us to see.?
Many wrongfully convicted don't have the funds to fight or have the support network to raise awareness of their case....
The US Criminal Justice System is archaic and in need of a SERIOUS OVERHAUL.
Let's give those wrongfully incarcerated....a voice!
Please sign to raise awareness.
