So many Filipinos have been very much disappointed with the current online passport appointment system at the DFA website. This has also been "allegedly" the cause of corruption in the form of fixers and agencies who try to "sell" slots for a much higher fee than what is stated in the PH DFA website. Bringing back the walk-in appointment system (in lieu of the current dysfunctional online appointment system) will allow people to get a passport appointment on a first come, first served basis. The system has proven to be not effective enough as many Filipinos who wish to apply for new / renewal of passports could not get any slot online for several months already.
