URGENT ACTION NEEDED: SAVE SPATZENSCHULE at TPS

The lmmersive German Language Program (the Spatzenschule) at Toorak Primary School is currently facing an unprecedented threat after having run successfully at TPS for over 14 years.
The DET (Department of Education and Teaching) is seeking to reduce the Immersive German Program to an out-of-school hours program only.
The enforcement of these changes would give us no choice but to close the Spatzenschule.
Our students are all enrolled students of TPS and most of them are Australian citizens. Parents have made far-reaching decisions based on explicit and implicit promises by Toorak Primary School and now find themselves faced with the possible loss of the program at very short notice. The loss of the Spatzenschule would result in many of them leaving TPS, breaking up valued friendships.
Our parents assist the school in fundraising, by participation in the school council, organising social functions, washing and changing the sickbay linen every week, etc.
We value the community and friendships we have at TPS, and we are DESPERATE to stay!
