I would like to express my opinion against the hair guidelines for men, this is a very serious social issue. Men who have long hair are being discriminated not just in school but also in some workplaces. This is 2019 and we should not still have to fight for equality, yet here we are.

I came from a High-School where men are also forced to cut their hair and that men’s hair should not extend past the top of my uniforms collar and the front hair should not extend through our eyebrows when I really want to keep my hair long, while women can wear whatever length of hair they want - pulled back, braided, pony-tailed or even cut their hair short while men are required to keep a single haircut.

It acts like men who has long hair is a threat to education, yet look at Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, Sir Isaac Newton and there’s  so many to enumerate but all that I am trying to say is that the length of our hair has no effect on how well we perform in school and workplaces.

This is simply just sexism in its purest form. Both men and women naturally grow hair, yet only the men have to keep it short? On top of that, women can keep it whatever length they choose. If men are required to keep theirs short, then shouldn't women be required to keep theirs long? All males in this district who biologically grow hair and want to keep it long are being harassed simply because of their gender.

I decided to write this petition as a stand to fight for equality not my haircut.
