Pennsylvania Schools to Void 3/4th Quarter Grading and Allow All Student to Pass 2019/2020

Pennsylvania Schools to Void 3/4th Quarter Grading and Allow All Student to Pass 2019/2020
The Issue
With over 2 million cases worldwide and over 800,000 confirmed in the USA, COVID-19 has exceeded into barriers that affect almost everyone. In the middle of a national pandemic our schools have established online courses for students to accomplish at home , in which they keep up us to date with our learning there should still be no reason in grading and incorporating tests and quizzes. Almost everyone in the world knows someone who has sadly passed away or been affected by COVID-19 , Millions of people have been laid off from work , unable to feed themselves, take care of their children or establish a just-able income and our nation is worried about education right now. With only $1,200 in stimulus checks this money is doing very little to a middle class family that $1,200 may only cover ones mortgage which is only a small portion considering utilities as well. Many of my friends and families are struggling through this time and to add on our school is making us do online courses that we did not sign up for and are grading us which is adding on more stress that is unbearable and in which in a time like this that is truly unjust. Students all over the world have been experiencing tough times for fallen family members or friends and our schools want to add on extra stress that is not needed. We the students need a sense of hope, a sign that everything will be fine, a sign that will increase our hope into our sadden days, not additional stress. Students all over the world are crying and failing online classes because they do not learn well off a computer. As well as Our colleges will be determining a students acceptance off these grades and most students are going to perform dramatically worse than with traditional teaching methods than online. That is why we the students of the State of Pennsylvania call upon the Pennsylvania Department of Education to Allow all students to pass the remainder of the year and void grading. #STOPTHEGRADING
