Gender neutralize the dress code. Earrings okay on boys.

The Issue

Earrings are not just for girls and only allowing girls to wear them in school is sexist. Nothing is a distraction until teachers make it a distraction by pulling students out of class or causing a scene. Either take them from everyone or change the dress codes to more gender neutral regulations. My son begged me to let him pierce his ears and the morning after I finally let him, I get a call from his principal at Pearl Stephens Elementary School in Warner Robins, GA stating he cannot wear them because they are a dress code violation due to his gender.  I believe that children should be allowed to express themselves despite their gender. Pink and blue are just colors and toys are just toys. Why should earrings be any different? Let's let our children be children.
