I am a recent graduate of the 2015 class of Wyoming Valley West. At that time, I was so proud to say I graduated from such an amazing school. But recently, my mind has been changed.

Parents/Guardians of students attending Wyoming Valley West several school's recieved a letter stating:

Dear Parent/Guardian,

This letter is to inform you that your child ______ has been purchasing breakfast/lunch at _____ school. After reviewing our records, there is a negative balance of _____. At this time, multiple letters have been sent home with your child and no payments have been made to their account. Your child has been sent to school every day without money and without breakfast/lunch. This is failure to provide your child with proper nutrition and you can be sent to the Dependency Court for neglecting your child's right to food. If you are taken to Dependency Court, the result may be placing your child being removed from home and place into foster care. At this time, please remit payment as soon as possible to avoid being reported to proper authorities."

It is estimated that in total, twenty-two thousand dollars is currently owed towards student's accounts for lunch/breakfast. 

Todd Carmichael, CEO of La Colombe in Philadelphia heard about the letter going to students families, threatening to take away their children if they do not remit payment. Mr. Carmichael offered to pay the entire amount owed and Wyoming Valley West's School Board President, Joe Mazur declined the offer. After facing backlash, Joe Mazur finally accepted the offer and is now threatening to terminate his employees. 

I am all in favor of Joe Mazur being terminated of his position due to lack of empathy for others as well as being one of the people who made this letter and had it sent out; scaring hundreds of families and emotionally disturbing them.
