Success Academy is a racist and abusive institution that practices illegal and shameful acts that traumatizes students and staff while performing a white savior complex of claiming to "save" black and brown children. 

Eva Moskowitz, the head of Success Academy, needs to step down as head of this organization immediately and all donors and board members of Success Academy should reroute their funding and support to public schools and BIPOC owned charter schools, all that have been thoroughly vetted for encouraging and responsibly teaching and caring for students. 

Any current staff that is celebrated by parents and students for genuinely supporting students and not adhering to these racist policies, I encourage they are welcomed by these newly funded BIPOC schools and/or public schools. We are not concerned with the employment of those who abuse children. 

* I have personally witnessed a principal violently handle a student and their items.

* I have seen ILLEGAL acts, like the posting of failing grades on the hallway, to shame students.

* I have seen their detention act as a prison. The school to prison connection is not a pipeline at Success Academy, the school IS the prison!

* I have heard from reliable sources that were in the room, principals are saying, "Why are these kids still at this school?", referring to special education students with active IEPs and wanting them to leave.  

* Students, former and current, as well as teachers, former and current, have revealed they have been diagnosed with PTSD from their experience with Success Academy alone. 

*Teachers, former and current, have assured me that there have been staff who were abusing alcohol on the job. 

Here are quotes from my DMs and a couple from the comments section (I am keeping them anonymous to protect their identity) after sharing a video about my experience with Success Academy that you can find on my Instagram page, @loudmangrove. The video is titled, "Success Academy SHOULD NOT BE A SCHOOL" 

1. "They would hang our GPA's up on the wall.. They would scream at us, and I mean scream at us, if we weren't standing in a clear enough line... The pressure around the state tests mentally crushed me... I started having a breakdown on the bus on the way to school." - former SA student

2. "It was actually traumatizing for me, after going to a public school and seeing the difference, and I can't imagine how much it traumatized the kids. I also would have to greet the kids in the morning and say good morning to them. If the kids didn't say good morning back, our BOM (head of operations) was in the hallway, she would call the kids out on it and force them to say good morning back to me. 5 - 8 year olds. And!! Kids couldn't come into the building until they shook the principal's hand. The amount of crying from the kids, every single day. Could go on and on." - former SA staff

3. "At Success my phone was taken by staff and was taken back to their home, which is illegal. Success is a school that puts on a persona but in reality the school is very disgusting." - former SA student

4. "Those 'schools' are the worst when handling black male children. They call school safety on kindergarteners who cry. So, now your 5 year old believes he is being arrested for being upset. My son was suspended in kindergarten for turning around in his seat and they had the nerve to write it up just like that." - former SA parent

5. "As the only black female teacher at the school, I was treated like sh*** and gaslighted so much it was low-key traumatizing. They need to completely reform everything and have more black teachers who can connect with the kids, not racist white teachers." - former SA staff

This can not go on! We have to end this! Our children are being abused and traumatized by Eva Moskowits and her terrible "school". Sign this petition and please share!
