The Issue

We, the undersigned community members, urge the City of San Jose to deny the request by Fuze to extend its outdoor music hours to 2 a.m. This petition is founded on documented concerns regarding noise pollution and potential public safety impacts related to nightlife establishments in the Downtown San Jose area.

The proposed extension of music hours carries significant implications for the quality of life for residents in the vicinity. Past and current experiences with late-night venues in the downtown area have raised issues related to noise disturbances and an increase in disruptive behavior extending into the streets. Allowing a longer operational window for outdoor music could exacerbate these documented challenges.

A decision to extend outdoor music hours should be carefully weighed against the interests of community well-being. The potential for increased noise and public disturbances late into the night would negatively impact local residents, disrupting sleep patterns, and potentially compromising the area's safety and livability.

We request that the City of San Jose prioritize the health and safety of its residents by denying this request and upholding existing regulations that safeguard the community from excessive noise and public disruption.
