Shane Kelly was living a dream, with a new home and the company of his girlfriend. On a tragic night of November 13, 2011, however, his life was brutally cut short. Walking home, Shane and his girlfriend were ambushed, robbed, and Shane was shot multiple times. Despite immediate medical intervention and surgery, Shane's life could not be saved.
This petition aims to ensure the persons responsible for his death, those who pleaded guilty under a legal compromise, are held accountable to the full extent. Quite disturbingly, these offenders now seek parole, a slap on the wrist, losing sight of the gravity of the crime they committed and the life they unjustly took.
As a society, we must uphold the justice meted out by our legal system and ensure that parole is denied until these individuals meet their maximum sentence, as outlined in their plea deals. Doing so honors Shane's memory and sends a clear message that violent crimes merit correspondingly grave consequences.
Please sign this petition to join our call for justice. Your voice can make a difference. It might mean the perpetrators serve the full sentence they were handed, thus reinforcing our commitment to justice and the value of human life.
