Deny ICE agents entry into the UK

The Issue

In recent years, there have been numerous reports detailing the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents that have raised significant ethical and legal concerns. These allegations suggest that ICE agents have violated both international humanitarian law and U.S. domestic law through their treatment of detainees and their execution of policies that defy international norms of human rights.

According to reports from reputable sources such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, ICE agents have been involved in practices that could be classified as inhumane and degrading treatment. These include separating families, holding detainees in substandard conditions, and carrying out deportations without due process. Such actions are in violation of international treaties such as the United Nations Convention Against Torture, to which the United States is a party.

Allowing ICE agents entry into the UK for purposes such as tourism, work, or study visas not only jeopardizes our nation’s commitment to human rights but also signals complicity in overlooking the serious allegations against these individuals. Historically, Britain has taken a strong stance against violations of international law. During World War II, the UK did not allow entry to groups known for perpetuating human rights abuses like the Gestapo; therefore, we must uphold this legacy by denying entry to those who participate in similarly questionable practices today.

The UK government has a responsibility to protect its citizens and uphold international human rights standards. By taking a stand against ICE agents entering our country, we are sending a powerful message about our values and our commitment to justice and human dignity.

We call upon the UK government and relevant authorities to enact legislation that would deny entry to any ICE agents seeking to visit the UK. Doing so would affirm our nation’s stance on human rights and ensure that we do not become complicit in actions that violate basic human decency.

Join us in urging the UK government to take decisive action. Sign this petition to protect our national values and stand up for human rights.
