The Issue

This urgent plea stems from a deeply personal connection to a horrendous crime. A voice needs to be raised for Elliot Whitaker, an innocent 15-month-old child who became the victim of a horrific act at the hands of Easton Vance. Children should be protected at all costs, but Elliot was not granted this universal right.

Easton Vance, accused of aggravated rape, has a dangerous history of victimizing children. His actions indicate a pattern that threatens the safety of children around him. The potential arrangement of bond would, in essence, create an opportunity for him to harm another child, an occurrence we cannot allow.

According to Rainn.org, every 9 minutes, child protective services substantiate, or find evidence for, a claim of child sexual abuse. To allow Easton Vance to be released on bond would not only be a disregard for the safety of children in our community, it would also be a denial of this serious and unacceptable issue that is pervasive in our society.

In short, we ask that the respective legal authorities deny bond in the case of Easton Vance. It's about more than just one case, it's about the broader message it sends to all children - that their safety matters. Elliot's voice is small, but with your help, it can grow louder. It is time we speak up for Elliot and all children who have been abused. Sign this petition to keep Easton Vance behind bars where he cannot harm another child.

Sincerely

Easton Vance's aunt
