DENY EARLY RELEASE FOR DARIAN SLAISE — JUSTICE FOR DOMONIQUE FREEMAN
The Issue
I am asking for your support in opposing the early release of Darian Slaise, Inmate #W112497, and in standing with my family as we continue to seek justice for my son, Domonique Freeman.
On August 5, 2020, my son Domonique was murdered. That date changed my life forever. Six years have passed, but the pain of losing my son has never gone away. As his mother, I still live with the heartbreak of knowing that he will never come home.
According to my understanding of the circumstances surrounding my son's murder, Darian Slaise was paid to participate in setting Domonique and his friends up to be murdered. Her involvement, as I understand it, played a role in a chain of events that ended with my son losing his life.
My son was not given another chance.
He will never get to grow older. He will never celebrate another birthday. He will never make the memories he should have been able to make with his family and friends. His life was taken, and my family has been left to carry that loss for the rest of our lives.
I understand that people may change and that the Board has many factors to consider when reviewing a request for early release. But I ask that the Board also remember the victim and the family who has been permanently affected.
Darian Slaise has the possibility of returning home. My son does not.
There is no early release from the sentence my family received. There is no day when Domonique will be released back into our arms. We have to live every day without him.
I am not asking for revenge. I am asking for accountability, justice, and consideration for the life that was lost.
I am asking everyone who reads this petition to please stand with me and my family by signing this petition and asking the Parole Board/Judicial Release Board to DENY the early release of Darian Slaise, Inmate #W112497.
Every signature represents another person saying that Domonique Freeman’s life mattered.
Please help me make sure my son's name and the pain his family continues to experience are not forgotten simply because six years have passed.
